Use of PE and Sport Premium
The Government allocated this premium with specific objectives:
- To improve the quality of existing PE teaching
- To increase participation
- To promote PE specialism in the primary level workforce
- To help schools understand and value the benefits of PE and sport
Gosden House has used the premium to buy equipment that is used in lessons and after-school clubs. All primary staff have then had the opportunity to receive in-house training on how it can be used.
It has paid for outside providers who, whilst teaching the classes, have been giving the teachers and TAs new subject knowledge.
It has provided places in after-school clubs for children who would not usually be able to attend.
It has paid for training of teachers and TAs in PE related courses.
We have been able to purchase “playground” equipment that allows the children to practise their skills. We have also bought a sound system that is loud enough to be used outside and has encouraged mass participation!
Finally, we fenced around the playground. This made it a safer environment so that staff can engage and play with the children rather than spend their time watching the boundaries.
